Frank Reilly has spent practically his whole life fishing, from his childhood on Loughrea to the great western lakes of Corrib, Mask and Carra.
What he doesn’t know about fish and fishing is not worth knowing.
As part of his work with Inland Fisheries Ireland he completed a Higher Certificate in Fisheries Management in Sligo Institute of Technology with distinction in 2004. He has returned to the Institute every year since, as a guest lecturer on Game Angling.
It is however as a competition angler that Frank is best known. He has won most of the major competitions in Ireland and he has represented Ireland on the ITFFA Team many times , as captain on one occasion .
His recent A.P.G.A.I. Ireland qualifications in casting and fly dressing are testament to his broad experience and expertise in all areas of game angling.
Frank and his brother Robert provide coaching and tuition in casting, entomology , safety and fly dressing to all ages. They also operate a guiding service on the Western Lakes. They have successfully coached the winning Connaught team in the 2011 and 2012 Youth Fly Tying Championship.
