About APGAI Ireland

Our History

APGAI Ireland was founded in 2001 as an initiative to bring together, and pool the resources of, game angling instructors from Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. As a teaching organisation, APGAI Ireland was tasked with developing an appropriate syllabus through which suitable individuals could qualify as game angling instructors.  

The syllabi for single handed casting, double handed casting and fly dressing. along with the examination process were developed to be comprehensive and challenging. Thus ensuring a standard of excellence that would define the Association and its individual members.

Furthermore, the Association has drawn up a Constitution, Code of Practice, Child Protection Policy, Safety Statement and Safety Guidelines.
